Panther track and field announces 2025 outdoor schedule

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI track and field program on Tuesday announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 outdoor season. Official meet start times have yet to be announced.

This year's outdoor schedule includes five in-state competitions, along with visits to Washington University St. Louis, SEMO, Indiana State, Simpson and Wisconsin. This year's Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Outdoor Championships will be held in mid-May, with the NCAA West Preliminaries in late May and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.

Northern Iowa will get its first opportunity to compete March 27-28 at Washington University's Distance Carnival in St. Louis, followed by a double meet weekend April 4-5 at the Joey Haines Invite in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, as well as the Wartburg Outdoor Select in Waverly. April action continues April 11 at the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines, along with the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State, April 17-19.

UNI will return to Des Moines April 23-26 for the 115th running of the historic Drake Relays at Drake Stadium, with additional athletes set to compete at Simpson's Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola. The Panthers will close out regular season competition at Iowa's Musco Twilight (May 3) and the Wisconsin Challenge (May 9).

The 2025 MVC Outdoor Championships head to Southern Illinois and the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Illinois (May 17-18), with the NCAA West Preliminaries set for May 28-31 in College Station, Texas. The NCAA Championships meanwhile are set to return to Eugene, Oregon, June 11-14.
