UNI women’s basketball: Ryley Goebel named MVC Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS --- UNI forward Ryley Goebel was named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This is the first MVC weekly honor of her career.
Ryley Goebel finished the Panthers' 2-0 week with 30 points, 19 rebounds, 11 steals, and four blocks in a pair of 10+-point victories, including a 14-point win over Illinois State. Against the Redbirds, Goebel finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and seven steals, just three swipes short of being the Panthers' third double-double performer in UNI history. The forward was 14-24 (58.3%) from the floor, including a 60% shooting performance (6-for-10) against Illinois State. Goebel led the Panthers in both matchups.
The Panthers return to the McLeod Center to take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Wednesday, December 10. Tipoff in Cedar Falls is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be available on ESPN+ and the Panther Sports Radio Network.
