CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI soccer team begins its final homestand of the 2025 regular season on Thursday afternoon as it hosts the Evansville Purple Aces in the first of three straight home contests in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) action.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT at the UNI Soccer Field with live coverage of the match available on ESPN+.Â
Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as part of the team's annual Pink Out match. UNI student-athletes will wear pink socks during the match.
Northern Iowa will be in search of a third consecutive win over the Purple Aces, who lead the Panthers in the all-time series by a 15-7-5 margin. With three matches to play in the regular season, the Panthers currently sits in ninth place in the MVC standings with five points in league play, needing a top-six finish to qualify for the conference tournament.
UNI returns home after coming up short in a 1-0 loss at Drake last Saturday in Des Moines. The Panthers held the league-leading Bulldogs scoreless for 81 minutes before conceding the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute. In the loss, starting goalkeeper Thordis Melsted tied her UNI career-high with four saves.
Ten different Panthers have found the back of the net this year, with Macy Smith leading the way with four goals, followed by Olivia Knoepfle and Haylee Braun with three goals in 2025. Denise Camarena, Sydney Burskey and Allison Flies have netted two each, while Sophia Balistreri, Ella Ubben, Aynslea Ulschmid and Olivia Mehl have all scored once.Â
In the record books, Knoepfle enters Saturday's match one assist shy of breaking another Ashley Harrington's (2020-23) record for career matches with an assist (13) after breaking her career assists record earlier this year, while also sitting second in team history in career points (51). Additionally, Camarena sits tied for eighth in UNI history with nine career assists, as Smith has recorded five career game-winning goals, fourth-most in team history.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
The Purple Aces come to Cedar Falls sitting in sixth in the MVC standings with seven points in league play, currently holding on to the final spot in the MVC Tournament picture. Evansville came up short in its last outing on Sunday in a 3-2 loss at Murray State,
Led by ninth year head coach Chris Pfau, who enters Thursday's match with 99 career victories, the Purple Aces are the second-most penalized team in the league with nine fouls per match. Taylor Wehrer leads Evansville with four goals on the year with Taylor Johnson scoring three times, while Brielle LaBerge ranks second in the MVC with a team-high five assists.
In goal, Allie Lammers has notched a .805 save percentage with an 0.89 goals allowed average and four shutouts.
