Panther wrestling announces full schedule for 2025-26 season

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI wrestling team on Tuesday announced its 2025-26 season competition schedule in full, including road duals and tournaments.

Season tickets for the upcoming season are now available, with the program just six season tickets shy of 1,000 sales for the first time in McLeod Center history. Single event tickets will go on sale on Friday, Oct. 31. Tickets can be purchased through the UNI Ticket Office, by calling 319-273-4849 or through email at tickets@uni.edu.

Additionally, due to scheduling conflicts, UNI's home duals against Arizona State and West Virginia have been changed to Jan. 22 and Feb. 14 respectively.

Northern Iowa will open the season on Nov. 9 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at the Journeyman Wrestling Collegiate Classic, one week prior to participating in the inaugural National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nov. 15-16 with an opening round dual against North Carolina State. The Panthers will also send athletes to the Grand View Open on Nov. 15.

The Panther Train will welcome fans inside the McLeod Center for the first time this fall on Nov. 23 as it hosts the North Dakota State Bison in its Big 12 Conference dual opener before heading to Edwardsville, Illinois for the Cougar Clash on Dec. 6. Missouri meanwhile will come to town on Dec. 14 in conference action, while North Carolina returns to Cedar Falls for the first time since 2017 on Dec. 21 to close out the calendar year.

Following the New Year's holiday, UNI will return to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Jan. 3, with additional wrestlers competing at the Soldier Salute in Coralville, Jan. 3-4.

The NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships returns to the UNI-Dome, Jan. 9-10 as the Panthers look to defend their title from last season. Arizona State meanwhile will make its first trip to Cedar Falls since 1981 on Jan. 22 as Northern Iowa takes on the Sun Devils.

Following three straight conference road duals at Oklahoma State (Jan. 30), Oklahoma (Jan. 31) and South Dakota State (Feb. 8), UNI will close out its home conference slate on Feb. 14 against West Virginia, looking to extend its nine-dual winning streak against the Mountaineers. After visiting in-state rival Iowa State on Feb. 15 in Ames, the Panthers will wrap up dual action on Feb. 22 against the Wisconsin Badgers in non-conference competition.

The Big 12 Championships return to BOK Center in Tulsa for a tenth consecutive year from March 6-7, while Rocket Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio welcomes the NCAA Championships, March 19-21.
