KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- For a sixth consecutive season, UNI soccer has been recognized for their success in the classroom.
The Panther soccer team has been named a United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Academic Award recipient for the seventh time in program history, highlighting the program's academic success during the 2023-24 academic year.
To qualify for the award, teams must post a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. UNI recorded a 3.70 cumulative team GPA in the 2023-24 academic year and was selected as one of 434 college soccer teams across multiple divisions to receive the honor. After receiving the award for the first time in 2017, the Panthers have received the distinction every year since 2019.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
The Panthers are scheduled to kick off the 2024 regular season on Aug. 15 when they host South Dakota at 4 p.m. CT at the UNI Soccer Field in Cedar Falls.
