CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI Athletics, in partnership with its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), will hold its fifth annual UNIty walk on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The event is open to all UNI students, staff and faculty members, as well as community members. This year's walk will begin at 7 a.m. CT at the south entrance of the McLeod Center and end on the field directly west of the campanile.
"We're looking forward to hosting our fifth annual UNIty Walk this week," said Andrea Greve Coello, UNI's Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development. "Our student-athletes have done a tremendous job in organizing and leading this event for the past five years with the goal of bringing our athletic department, university and community together to support one another. This event is alway a fantastic reminder each year of the power of unity!"
Established in the fall of 2020, the UNIty Walk has served as a reminder of the importance of community, and has become a space for UNI student-athletes, coaches and staff to learn from and support one another. This walk was started by student-athlete leaders, and continues to be a staple for the UNI Athletic department as it is one of the only times athletes, coaches, staff members and community members are all together throughout the year.
UNI Athletics action can be followed all year long on social media on Facebook (UNI Athletics), X (@UNIAthletics) and on Instagram (@uniathletics). Schedules and rosters, along with the latest Panther news and information can be found online at UNIpanthers.com.
