Panthers land 16 on MVC track and field Scholar-Athlete team

ST. LOUIS --- Thirteen members of the UNI track and field team have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) Scholar-Athlete Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
To be considered for recognition, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA), be at least a sophomore in both academic and athletic standing and place in the top-eight in an individual event or top-three in a relay event at the MVC's indoor and/or outdoor championship meet.
Ten of UNI's 13 selections who received recognition posted a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher, including three over 3.90. Four selections are also slated to compete at the NCAA West Region Preliminary Meet beginning Wednesday in Sacramento, California.
