UNI softball earns outright MVC Regular Season title

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- After earning a share of the title on Saturday, the Panthers now have the whole pie.
With their win against Valparaiso on Saturday afternoon, UNI softball secured at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Regular Season title with the Missouri State Bears. But on Sunday afternoon, the Bears dropped their fifth game of the Valley season to the Indiana State Sycamores, giving the Panthers the title outright.
This is the second season in a row UNI softball has earned the title of MVC Regular Season Champions. The Panthers were named the 2022 season champions on May 1 in a 6-3 win over Indiana State. With back-to-back titles, this is the first time in program history that UNI softball has won back-to-back Valley Regular Season titles.
The Panthers are back in action on Wednesday for their final non-conference game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Their final MVC series will be May 5 through May 7 against Evansville, where they close out the season at home.
