FINAL RESULTS

IOWA CITY, Iowa — UNI divers recorded a highly successful weekend at the Hawkeye Invitational, where all six panther divers achieved new collegiate records and five made their marks on the program's top-ten all-time scores list.

Thursday opened with the one-meter springboard competition, where junior Abby Hutchins qualified for the A-final with a career-best score of 255.70 in the preliminary round. Freshman Avery Hogan also had a collegiate-best dive with a ninth-place overall finish (259.25), moving her up to seventh place on UNI's top-ten list. Following closely behind were teammates Erica Peters (254.15) and Trista Thompson (249.30), both besting their previous collegiate high-water marks, with Peters cracking the UNI top-ten for the first time this season. Hannah Taylor recorded a collegiate-best score of 227.75 on the one-meter boards, notching a 13th place overall finish in the event.

For the three-meter springboards, Both Hogan and Peters qualified for the A-final, with Hogan achieving yet another career-best of 253.40, but quickly improved it in the finals to an impressive 276.85. Her performance on the three-meter dive landed her fourth overall on the UNI top-ten list for her first year as a Panther, and sixth place overall in the Hawkeye Invitational. Peters scored a personal-best of 274.15 in the preliminary round, raising her position on the UNI top ten list to sixth overall, and taking eighth place in the event. Thompson took home ninth place overall (250.75), edging out teammate Maddie Moran by 0.2 points (250.55).

UP NEXT
UNI will host the Panther Diving Invite on December 16th at the Glen F. Henry Pool in Cedar Falls. The full swimming and diving team will return to action on January 13 for a home dual against Iowa State.
