UNI track and field closes out 2022 West Prelims with women's discus, high jump

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - UNI track and field closed out the 2022 NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with two field events on the women's side.
Malory Henze finished the regular season with the second farthest mark in UNI women's history with a throw of 52.28 meters (171 feet, 6 inches) in discus. She finished 43rd with a throw of 45.79 meters (150 feet, 2 inches).
Rylie Todd barely missed on her third attempt today at her career best. Her jump of 1.76 meters (5-9.25) is the third best mark in school history. Today at the prelims, she brushed the bar at that height and exited the field with a mark of 1.71 meters (5-7.25). Only 22 competitors cleared 1.76 meters or better.
The top 12 competitors in each event advanced to the NCAA championships. The West Prelims were held at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
King will be up first, competing in shot put 4:40 p.m. CT June 8, and Yezek will compete at 3:35 p.m. CT June 10.

Darius King and Tom Yezek will represent the Panthers at the NCAA championships set for June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.King will be up first, competing in shot put 4:40 p.m. CT June 8, and Yezek will compete at 3:35 p.m. CT June 10.
