AJ Green named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team

AUSTIN, Tex. --- UNI men's basketball guard AJ Green has been named to CoSIDA's 2021-22 Academic All-America Second Team, as announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday. The 2021-22 Academic All-America Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Green, a junior studying Movement and Exercise Science and Sports Psychology, has posted 3.67 cumulative grade point average while scoring 18.8 points per game. The Cedar Falls, Iowa native, who was named the Missouri Valley's Conference's Player of the Year earlier this month, earns his first Academic All-America honor of his career after being selected to CoSIDA's Academic All-District Team in 2020 and 2022. He is also the fifth men's basketball player in UNI history to earn the honor, and first since Randy Randy Kraayenbrink in 1984.
Green joins four other selections from CoSIDA's District 6 to be selected to an All-America team, including fellow Second Team honorees Matt Dentlinger (South Dakota State) and Gibson Jimerson (Saint Louis), and Third Team selections Josh Bannan (Montana) and Rocky Krueser (North Dakota State).
