UNI to face off with South Dakota, South Dakota State, Sioux Falls, St. Thomas, St. Cloud State and Augustana
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI swimming and diving returns to the pool this weekend at the Coyote Extravaganza in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the Midco Aquatic Center.Â
Hosted by South Dakota, the meet includes South Dakota State, Sioux Falls, St. Thomas, St. Cloud State, and newly added, Augustana. The meet will be scored as twelve individual dual meets for UNI. Last year, the Panthers claimed nine victories at the Extravaganza, falling only to South Dakota on the first day of competition.Â
UNI enters the Extravaganza with the fastest seeded times in three events this weekend, with at-least one seeded among the top-five in each of the other events scheduled.Â
The Panthers are coming off a third place finish at the MVC Showcase against Indiana State, Illinois State, and UIC two weeks ago. Sophomore Faith Larsen won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle, and junior Amber Finke won the 200-yard backstroke. In addition to picking up three wins on the weekend, UNI returners recorded 15 in-season best times.Â
Currently, Larsen leads the Missouri Valley Conference in the 50-yard freestyle and sits third in the 100-yard freestyle. Finke ranks in the top-three in both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events. In the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Hallory Domnick is ranked fourth. On the boards, defending MVC 3-meter champion, Taylor Hogan, sits fifth in the 3-meter rankings.Â
Live results will be available on the MeetMobile app, at GoYotes.com, and on DiveMeets.Â
