CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- Parker Keckeisen becomes just the 15th Panther in program history to represent UNI wrestling at the NWCA All-Star Classic, and the rest of the team gets one final tuneup at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open before the Cliff Keen Invite.Â
The event returns after a four-year hiatus and kicks off at 7 p.m. CT Nov. 22. Keckeisen, ranked No. 2 in the nation, will get a rematch at 184 pounds against the reigning two-time NCAA champion Aaron Brooks of Penn State. Brooks has a career record of 50-2 and was the silver medalist at the 2018 U20 World Championships.Â
Keckeisen has just three losses on his record, with two of them to Brooks. Keckeisen has closed the gap each time he has wrestled Brooks in his collegiate career. The two tangled in high school at Fargo before the two matchups in the last two seasons.Â
Brooks knocked Keckeisen into the consolations at the 2021 NCAA Division I Championships winning, 6-4. Keckeisen pulled within one point in a dual match the next season against Brooks on Dec. 20, 2021. Brooks won that match, 3-2.Â
