CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The majority of the UNI wrestlers will open their season this weekend at the Daktronics Open.
UNI wrestling, ranked No. 22 in the latest NWCA poll, opened the season with five freshmen at the Grand View Open.
ÂTwelve Panthers medaled at last year's tournament. Parker Keckeisen was the lone champion for UNI wrestling at 184 pounds. Returning medalists:

NWCA ALL-STAR CLASSIC - Parker Keckeisen
The NWCA All-Star Classic returns after a four-year hiatus. The special event will include just 11 men's matches, one bout at each weight and two sets of competitors at 165 pounds. There also will be at least four women's matches.Â
Parker Keckeisen will get a rematch at 184 pounds against the reigning two-time NCAA champion Aaron Brooks of Penn State. Brooks has a career record of 50-2 and was the silver medalist at the 2018 U20 World Championships.Â
Keckeisen has just three losses on his record, with two of them to Brooks. Keckeisen has closed the gap each time he has wrestled Brooks in his collegiate career. The two tangled in high school at Fargo before the two matchups in the last two seasons.Â
Brooks knocked Keckeisen into the consolations at the 2021 NCAA Division I Championships winning, 6-4. Keckeisen pulled within one point in a dual match the next season against Brooks on Dec. 20, 2021. Brooks won that match, 3-2.Â
