Q: How was preseason camp for you?
A: It was fun. It was nice to get back to a little normalcy again, especially playing football in the fall. It finally feels normal again so it's been good and to be around the guys again.
Q: What's your favorite part about being back in Cedar Falls and on campus?
A: Being able to have all my classes in person honestly. Being able to see everybody, masks were needed at the time but now we're able to see each other, see everyone's facial expressions, and see your teachers. It's a whole lot better that way.Â
Q: How are you preparing for this Saturday's game and the overall season?
A: Just taking it day by day, hour by hour, trying not to overthink anything or overhype by any means. I'm just trying to stay calm, cool and collected. It is going to be exciting.Â
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals or any specific music you listen to?
A: Besides rolling out and stretching with my boys, I actually listen to motivational speakers. So an hour and a half before the game I'll listen to motivational speakers talk and for some reason that gets me motivated and ready for the game.Â
Q: What are some team goals you guys are focusing on this season?
A: I think every year our goal is to win the Missouri Valley Conference, and to not only make it to a national championship but win it. Overall just get better everyday as a team, as a collective unit for the task at hand.Â
Q: How do you want to improve this season as a player and a teammate?
A: I want to be someone the team can look to when times go bad. I'd like to be that positive outlook that people can look at when the other team scores and teammates are frustrated, maybe yelling at themselves or at each other. I want to be that positive person you want to turn to, ready for the next play.Â
Q: What has been the funniest practice moment?
A: Honestly I don't know, that's a tough question. We always are goofing around, having funny moments, I can't think of just one off the top of my head.Â
Q: What is the best college memory you've made so far at UNI?
A: I don't know this is just awesome, I'm living the dream right now. I'm playing college football with some of my best friends. I've got great teammates, great coaches. This is just awesome, I'm living it and it's all I could ever hope for. I've been dreaming of playing college football since I was a little kid and I'm living it right now so it's all I could ever want.
