
Women’s Tennis Open Their Fall Season at the Drake Invite

Des Moines, Iowa - UNI Women's Tennis finished up the first tournament of the year with 3 new players playing for the Panthers.
In flight 1 singles, Emma Carr went 1-2 and won the west bracket with a WO (walk-over). Darta Dalecka also went 1-2 and won the South bracket, beating a player from Creighton.
In flight 2 singles, Thaissa Moreira won the South bracket defeating a player from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Moreira went 2-2. Andrijana Brkic went 0-4 in the same flight.
In flight 3 singles, Lorena Cardoso lost to a player from Augustana University, 7-6(4) 6-2, in the final match of the West Bracket. Overall, Cardoso went 2-2.
In flight 4, Issa Sullivan went 1-2 and became champion of the South bracket defeating teammate Olivia Fain. Fain ended the tournament with a 1-3 record.
In flight 1 doubles, Carr/ Dalecka went 0-3.
In flight 2 doubles, Moreira/ Brkic went 0-3
In flight 4 doubles, Sullivan/ Cardoso reached the finals but lost to South Dakota. Their final record was 2-1

The next tournament of the fall season will be the Bluejay invite in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a two-day tournament and the Panthers will play both singles and doubles starting Friday, September 24.
