Panthers Secure One Title and Second Place at the Bluejay Invite

Omaha, Nebraska – The Northern Iowa Tennis Team secured one singles title in flight D, a second place finish in flight E and three third place finishes in flights A, B and F.
Freshman Lorena Cardoso went 3-0 in flight D to win the singles title, over players from Nebraska Kearney University, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Augustana University. The Brazilian got three straight set wins to win the tournament.
Sophomore Issa Sullivan got second place with wins over players from Nebraska Kearney University and Creighton University. She earned a third set win before falling in the championship match in straight sets.
In flight A, Freshman Darta Dalecka got third place. In flight B, Junior Emma Carr got third place. In flight C, Junior Thaissa Moreira got eighth place. In flight D, Sophomore Andrijana Brkic got fourth place and in flight F, Senior Olivia Fain got third place.
The Panthers also played doubles matches, in a hidden dual format. They fell to Creighton University 0-3.
The next tournament for the Women's Tennis Team is the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Tournament, hosted by Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
