Smith Promoted to Director of Annual Giving and Tickets

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Athletics staffer Nathaniel Smith has been promoted to the position of Director of Athletics Annual Giving and Tickets, the department announced, Monday.
Smith will continue to serve in his current role with the Panther Scholarship Club, but will take over responsibilities for the day-to-day coordination between the athletics department and UNITix.
He will coordinate with the Athletics external staff on ticket sales promotions and all season ticket renewals. He will correspond with season ticket holders and fans and will assist with game-day management activities for the ticketing operations.
Along with his work with the external team, He will also coordinate with the event management staff to meet the ticketing needs of all patrons and fans.
"Nathaniel has been a valuable member of our department during his tenure at UNI," Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Nathan Christensen said. "He has shown a strong dedication to our student-athletes and programs and has done a great job building solid relationships with many of our supporters. This promotion recognizes his hard work and he will continue to make a significant impact within the Athletics Department in his new role."
Smith came to UNI as the Assistant Director of Development in 2018. Before his time at UNI, he was the Director of Athletics at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois. He began his career as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin-Whitewater where he worked as an Operations and Events Coordinator.
"I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. I am honored to continue to serve our student-athletes, donors, season ticket holders, fans, and the entire Cedar Valley community," Smith said. "It didn't take long for me to realize that UNI is a special place with people that are committed and passionate about the success and well-being of our student-athletes, sports programs, Athletic Department, and Institution. It's an absolute joy going to work each and every day knowing that our people care. I am excited for all that is to come. Ever Loyal."
Smith was a standout basketball player at Loras College where he earned a dual degree in sports management and business administration in 2015. He earned his Master's in Athletic Administration from Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2016.
