Nineteen Panthers Land on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Nineteen UNI track and field athletes, nine from the men's team and ten from the women's team landed on the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field Scholar-Athlete Team for their efforts in the classroom and in competition.

Leading the Panthers with 4.0 GPAs are senior William Blaser and junior Marin Ehler. Seniors Sven Van Den Bergh and Cameron Cantrall recorded their third academic honor from the MVC. Joining Blaser, Van Den Bergh, and Cantrall on the scholar-athlete team from the senior class are Dan Blocker, Seb Gearhart, and Allison Hilleman.

Graduate students Wal Khat and Taylor Raines, as well as juniors Andrew Kephart, Owen Minshall, Isabelle Holtzen, Paige Holub, Cierra Laux, Katie Nimrod, and Rylan Santi also garnered academic honors from their performances in the classroom and in their respective events.

Landing on the scholar-athlete team for the first time this season are sophomores Jack Sumners, Katie Fare, Noel James.

Nominees must have placed in the top eight of an individual event or top three in a relay event at the Indoor or Outdoor MVC Championships, maintain a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average, and be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standings to be eligible.
