Panthers Fall to the Sycamores

Terre Haute, IN - The UNI soccer team traveled to Indiana Saturday afternoon to take on the Indiana State Sycamores. It was senior day for the Sycamores, but it was the Indiana State freshmen that led to UNI's defeat.

Bruce, "Just not our day. Much of that reason was Indiana State was relentless and punished our mistakes. Goals change games and we had several opportunities, including two in the opening 5 mins of the 2nd half that we have to put away. Now our full attention is on Wednesday's game."

It was a battle to maintain possession in the first 45 minutes of play as both defenses stood strong only allowing one shot on goal a piece. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Sycamores were able to capitalize on their opportunity and take a 0-1 lead into the half.

The Panthers started the second half strong with two opportunities but were unable to capitalize. Caitlin Richards was able to tally three goal-stopping saves, however the Sycamores were able to clean up a cross that hit the goal post to give them the 0-2 win over the Panthers.

The Panthers are now 3-4-2 going into the final game of the regular season.
