Rally in the Valley at Home Set for for May 31- June 5

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The 2021 Rally in the Valley is slated for May 31-June 5 and is highlighted by a program which will include an appearance by NFL vet and former Missouri Valley Defensive Player of the Year L.J. Fort and his wife, former Panther women's basketball standout, Stephanie Fort (Davison).

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our community, the 13th annual Rally in the Valley will again be a virtual event, Rally in the Valley at Home presented by Cedar Valley Dental Associates.

UNI Athletics' accomplishments during the 2020-21 academic year included everything from MVC titles to All-American finishes. We are grateful for our fans, donors and community partners that have stepped up to support our student-athletes and staff as we continue to strive for excellence on and off the field of competition.

"As we continue to progress in the fight against COVID, we want to ensure that people are able to attend Rally in the Valley and feel comfortable," Director of Athletics David Harris said. "We look forward to hosting the event in person going forward, but for this year, we will again host the event virtually. Last year's event was far more successful than we could have imagined and we hope our fans again join the event to help us raise vital funds for student-athlete scholarships. We are also thrilled to be joined by L.J. and Stephanie Fort, two Panthers through and through. We know it will be an exciting and fun program."

All proceeds from Rally in the Valley at Home will go to the Rally in the Valley Scholarship Fund. These funds are used to provide scholarship support to student-athletes across all sports and are essential to the department's growth and success.

The Rally in the Valley at Home opens Monday, May 31 at 10 a.m. and ends on Saturday, June 5 at 8 p.m. All auction items and bidding will take place on the Handbid app, which is the same platform that has been used in previous years. Fans will be able to preview auction items starting Thursday, May 27 at 10 a.m. UNI Athletics will also feature a virtual video program on Thursday, June 3 at 6 p.m. that will feature current and former student-athletes and administration. Videos can be found by following UNI Athletics on Facebook and Twitter and will also be placed on unipanthers.com.

The Rally in the Valley Raffle will proceed as normal and those winners will be announced Saturday, June 5. Raffle tickets can still be purchased and sent to the PSC office, but we must receive your tickets and payment by Wednesday, June 2nd for you to be eligible. If you did not receive tickets, but would like to participate, please email the PSC office at psc@uni.edu.
