Austin Phyfe Named MVC First Team Scholar Athlete

ST. LOUIS – For the second consecutive year UNI's Austin Phyfe has been selected as a First Team Scholar Athlete by the Missouri Valley Conference Sports Information Directors.
The criteria for the Missouri Valley Conference's Scholar-Athlete Team voting parallels the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) standards for Academic All-America voting. Nominees must be starters or important reserves with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average (4.0 scale).
Phyfe, a 2020 First Team Scholar Athlete, is an Elementary and Middle Level Education double major with a 3.63 cumulative GPA. Phyfe has started every game for the Panthers, averaging a team high 13.3 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game in league play. Phyfe has made 57.8% of the shot from the field this season, ranking 5th in the MVC.
