Kailyn Packard Earns MVC Newcomer of the Week

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has announced UNI's Kayiln Packard as the MVC Newcomer of the Week after her play at the Rock Chalk Challenge.

Sophomore Pitcher Kailyn Packard posted a 0.64 ERA while picking up a win and a loss over the span of two games. Packard threw 14 innings striking out thirteen batters while walking four. The Sophomore only gave up two runs with one being earned. Packard threw two complete games to give the Panthers one of their two wins over the weekend. Packard now has a 6-3 record, 1.97 ERA, 57 strike outs, 14 walks and only has given up 6 earned runs on the season.

Packard and the rest of the team will begin MVC play against Missouri State. Two games will be held on Saturday, March 20^th and one game on Sunday, March 21^st. The first pitch is set for game one at 12:00 pm CT with the second game set for 2:30 CT. Sunday's game will have a first pitch time of 11:00 am CT.
