
Bobbi Petersen Becomes MVC Winningest Coach With Win Over Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Indiana – The UNI volleyball team picked up their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Purple Aces 3-1 with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23.
The win put head coach Bobbi Petersen at 510 career wins, surpassing former Missouri State head coach Melissa Stokes as the MVC all-time wins leader.
The Panthers first set was the most efficient of the day, recording 20 kills on 37 attacks with just 5 errors for a .405 team hitting percentage. Emily Holterhaus finished with a team high 15 kills and led the team with 12 digs.
Kaylissa Arndorfer finished with 11 kills and Carly Spies added 10.
Freshman setter Tayler Alden finished with 48 assists, a season high, and a .444 hitting percentage after recording 5 kills on 9 attacks. UNI finished with 12 block assists, with Arndorfer and Spies accounting for 5 and 4 respectively.
The Purple Aces were led by Alondra Vazques and Melanie Feliciano with 17 and 15 kills respectively. Allana McInnis recorded a team high 29 assists while Feliciano finished with a team high 12 digs.
