Panthers Stay at Home for a Matchup Against Drake

The UNI women's basketball team will play at the McLeod Center on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m for the second game in the MVC series against Drake. The last matchup was held in Des Moines, Iowa on Jan. 27 when Drake notched the 96-79 win over the Panthers.
• The Panthers played their first home series in a month against Loyola on Feb, 19-20. The Panthers claimed a 27-point win on Feb. 19 and fell two points short on Feb. 20 in an overtime battle with Loyola, 66-64.
• Cynthia Wolf led the Panthers on Feb. 19 with 13 points and 12 rebounds also recording her first double-double for the 2020-21 season and the second of her career.
• Megan Maahs scored 15 points between the two games. Those 15 points moved her into spot No. 19 with 1,056 total career points. She needs eight points to advance into the No. 18 held by Cassie Hager with 1,063 points.
• Since the last time the Panthers and the Bulldogs met, Drake has won four out of the six games they played. They beat Loyola and Southern Illinois, but suffered losses to Illinois State. Drake is on a two-game losing streak entering the final matchup with UNI.
• Grace Berg, forward, has led the team in scoring for the past six games. Berg is averaging 16.6 points a game and has a shot percentage of 54.4% from the field. She scored 22 points and seven rebounds in Drake's most recent game against Illinois St. on Feb. 20.
• The Panthers scored 12 three-pointers on Feb. 19, there is only one game where the Panthers scored more than 12 three-pointers at Indiana State Jan. 22, where UNI scored 13 from behind the arc.
• Nicole Kroeger made a total of five three-pointers and is on a seven-game streak of making at least one three-pointer that she has attempted. Kayba Laube is also on a seven-game streak of making at least one three-pointer.
• Karli Rucker advanced to No. 9 on the All-Time Scoring List with 1,298 points and recorded 16 total assists in the series against Loyola.
• UNI is ranked No. 24 for Three-Pointers Attempted and No. 28 for Three-Pointers Made among the nation.
• Drake is now 12-10 overall and 10-5 in MVC play. They are ranked second in the MVC right underneath Missouri State, leading with 11 straight MVC wins. UNI is 10-10 overall and 7-6 in the conference after the split series with Loyola.
