
Taylor Hogan led UNI Dive Team at Mizzou Invitational

CEDAR FALLS, IA - The University of Northern Iowa Divers took to Columbia, Missouri for the latter half of the week where they competed in the Mizzou Diving Invitational. Taylor Hogan represented UNI in the finals for both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
Hogan scored 238.90 points in the 3-meter Preliminary dives. Her most difficult dive, the Back 1 ½ Somersault rewarded her 47.60 points, her highest score in the prelims, and a fifth-place spot in that round. Moving onto the finals, Hogan once again nailed her Back 1 ½ Somersault and scored 214.60 points overall.Â
Hannah Taylor, Maddie Moran, and Abby Hutchins all ended their 3-meter prelim dives right in a row. Taylor recorded 196.95, Moran ended with 196.85 points and Hutchins scored 178.35. Taylor was awarded her largest point total of 38.40 on her Inward 2 Somersault dive. Moran respectively gained 39.15 points on her second dive, the Inward 2 ½ Somersault and Hutchins started her run with her most difficult dive, a Forward 2 ½ Somersault, that awarded her her highest score of 40.80 points.Â
Hogan recorded 229.80 points for the 1-meter prelim dives which also rewarded her a position in the finals. Just shy of her previous score, Hogan placed 11th in the finals with a total of 228.25 points. Hutchins ended the 1-meter dives with 199.30, Taylor recorded 194.75 points, and Moran grabbed 175.00.Â
The UNI Divers will rejoin the Swim squad for their next meet at the University of Nebraska at Omaha on December 17 at 1:00 pm.
