DES MONIES, Iowa - The UNI women's soccer team dropped their final game of the regular season on Thursday night to Drake.
It was a windy and rainy match for the in-state rivals that had a slow start. The Panthers would get the first shot of the game in the 10th minute when forward Lily Caso shot wide to the left. But the Bulldogs would get the first goal of the game in the 14th minute when midfielder Makenna Shepard put a rebound in the net.
Drake would get one more goal in the first half in the 41st minute. Forward Hallie Peak would find the back of the net in the center of the goal to make it 2-0. The Panthers battled back in the 2nd half, putting up 5 shots on goal compared to the Bulldogs 1 shot. But the offensive effort wouldn't be enough for UNI to overcome, dropping their final game of the season 2-0.
