CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The calendar has turned over to 2021, and although 2020 was the most challenging year in UNI Athletics history, the UNI faithful stepped up. The Panther Scholarship club raised over $1.47 million in cash with a total raised with cash, gifts-in-kind and special events raising over $2.12 million.
"The Panther Scholarship Club is the lifeblood of the UNI Athletics department and this year was a very challenging year as we all know," Associate AD for External Affairs Nathan Christensen said. "But again, our donors stepped up to help our student-athletes and programs by making a gift to the PSC. We are looking forward to the 2021 fund year and thank you to everyone that supports UNI and Panther Scholarship Club.
With the new year, comes the new fund drive. The Panther Scholarship Club goal for 2021 is $1.6 million.
Renewal materials will hit mailboxes in the coming days. Fans can renew their 2021 pledges by returning the renewal form in your packet. You can also renew by calling the Panther Scholarship Club office at 319-273-2471 or by visiting supportthepanthers.com.
PSC donors that increase their giving level from last year will join the Momentum Club. Momentum Club members will be eligible for certain items on top of the perks that they receive for their membership.
"We know most of our supporters faced significant challenges this year, regardless of their situation, they made sacrifices to support our student-athletes and their well-being," Director of Athletics David Harris said. "We are grateful to everyone who gave this year and we look forward to a big year of growth on and off our various fields of competition in 2021 and hope that you continue to be a Panther Scholarship Club Member. Please watch for the packets in your mailboxes in the near future"
