King, Trousil Sweep Athlete of the Week Honors

ST. LOUIS – Isaiah Trousil and Darius King swept male Missouri Valley Conference Athletes of the Week honors after strong performances at the Black and Gold Premiere Meet in Iowa City.

Trousil finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.35, his fastest indoor time ever and the fastest in the league. He is now third on the UNI All-time indoor list. He was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay that finished second with a time of 3:13.98, the fastest in the MVC to date.

King finished in first place in the shot put with a throw of 18.37m, leading a group of five Panthers that swept the top five spots at the Black and Gold Premier Invite in Iowa City. He also finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 18.32.

The honor is the second of the season for both athletes after sweeping the honor in December.

UNI has a split squad this weekend with part of the team traveling to Notre Dame and part of the team heading to Nebraska.
