Panther Women Hit the Road for Rematch with SDSU

UNI travels to Brookings, S.D., Wednesday, for a rematch of UNI's 65-48 win over then 21st-ranked South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits have won three-straight since dropping the 17-point loss to UNI, including a 60-52 road win over a ranked Missouri State team.
• UNI is coming off of a close 67-61 loss to Iowa State Wednesday night. The Panthers held All-American Ashley Joens, the nation's leading scorer, to only six points during. The last time Joens scored in single digits was in the 2018-19 season. Â
• The Panthers travel to play the Jackrabbits for the second time in three games. UNI held SDSU to just 48 points in the win on Dec. 12.
• In the first match-up, Karli Rucker scored 18 points while the Panther defense forced 21 turnovers, and held SDSU to just 33.3% from the field.Â
• Myah Selland leads SDSU with 19 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Paiton Burckhard averages 12.4 and Tylee Irwin averages 10.4.Â
• UNI is ranked 58th in three-pointers attempted and 40th three-pointers made in the NCAA. Bre Gunnels is ranked 25th in the NCAA for free throws attempted and 27th for free throws made.Â
• Rucker is ranked No. 16 on the All-Time Scoring list for the Panthers, now with 1,106 points in her career. She is 27 points behind Kerry Dawson in the 15th spot.Â
• Megan Maahs is just three rebounds away from the No. 4 spot all-time. She has 743 rebounds but did not record a rebound on Tuesday against Iowa State.Â

• UNI is now 3-3 for the season with wins over Crieghton, Wichita State and South Dakota State. The losses came against Iowa, Iowa State and North Dakota State.Â
• UNI and South Dakota State are both ranked in the mid-major poll. UNI entered the poll at 17th after knocking off SDSU. The latest poll (Dec. 15) had SDSU ranked eighth, but that was before the Jackrabbits' win over Missouri State who led the poll.Â
