CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI Athletics Panther Scholarship Club tallied a record night at the 2020 Women at Play dinner and auction event held Saturday night in Waterloo.
The event raised $43,820 over $5,000 more the previous best of $38,000 raised during the 2018 event.
"UNI fans show up for women's athletics," Director of Athletics David Harris said. "We appreciate all of our fans that show up to watch our teams compete, but the results from Women at Play show that they also show up with their amazing generosity in support of scholarships. We are very grateful for the support of our female student-athletes and just as excited to see this support translate to success in the fields of play and in the classroom."
All funds raised at the event go to the Pat Allen Women at Play Endowment Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is designated for female student-athletes.
This year's dinner also honored UNI track and field student-athlete and Para athletics world discus record holder Jessica Heims.
