AJ Green Named MVC Player of the Week

St. Louis – UNI's AJ Green has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Green averaged 27.0 points per game and shot 51% from the field in MVC victories last week over Valparaiso and at Bradley. Green finished with 29 points against Valparaiso, going 9-of-16 from the field and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Green would go 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and also added three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the Panther victory.
Green finished with 25 points and shot 7-of-15 from the field and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line against Bradley. Green hauled in five rebounds and two assists in the Panther victory, which snapped Bradley's 14-game home court winning streak. Green also extended his UNI-record streak of consecutive free throws without a miss to 43.
Green and the rest of the Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, January 22 when they travel to Carbondale, Illinois for a MVC showdown with the Salukis of Southern Illinois. The game will tip off at 8 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Midwest, NBC Sports Chicago, Fox Sports Kansas City, and Fox Sports Indiana.
