Panther Tennis Closes out Bluejay Invite

OMAHA, Neb. – Madeline Doherty picked up a win in her final match and Morganne Borsh earned a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the flight F consolation championship to lead the way for UNI tennis at the Creighton Bluejay Invite in Omaha.
A pair of Panther doubles teams picked up consolation championship match wins. Harri Proudfoot and Emma Carr defeated a team from Omaha 6-2 to earn the Flight A consolation championship while Vale Caro and Olivia Fain defeated a team from Gustavus Adolphus 6-4 to earn the Flight B consolation championship.
Thaissen Moreira defeated Drake's Brylee Lauby 6-0, 6-0 in the seventh-place match of Flight C.
Madeline Doherty's win came against Crieghton's Laura Higueras (Crieghton) 6-2, 3-6, 10-3. The match was arraigned after two Creighton players made the flight final. The win gives Doherty a 2-1 record on the weekend.
The Panthers next host the Missouri Valley Individual championship Friday through Sunday at the Byrnes Tennis Complex in Waterloo.
