Bennett Koch Signs with the Sheffield Sharks

SHEFFIELD, England – Former UNI standout center, Bennet Koch has signed a contract with the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks for the 2019-20 season.
Koch played for the Panthers from 2014- 2018, and was named to the MVC's Most Improved Team as a sophomore averaging 9.6 points per game. As a junior the 6-10 center became the 101st Panther to reach 500 career points and as a senior he became the 42nd Panther to reach the 1,000 career point threshold. Koch earned Third Team All-MVC honors as a senior and graduated with 1,028 career points, ranking 39th in school history.
His first professional season was with the Dutch Windmills in the Holland Eredivisie League. He was able to be productive in a limited role averaging 6.3 points and 4.7 rebounds.
"I am excited to play in Sheffield. They have a tradition of winning and after speaking to Coach Lyons I think I can really help the Club in the upcoming season," said Koch.
The Sharks open their season away at Leicester Riders on Friday, September 20 with their first home game taking place on Sunday, September 22 against the Manchester Giants.
