UNI Set to Host Four MVC Championships

ST. LOUIS – UNI will host four championships in the 2019-20 academic year, Missouri Valley Conference Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Thursday.
The Panthers are scheduled to host the Tennis Individual Championship at the Byrnes Park Tennis Center in Waterloo, the Volleyball Championship at the McLeod Center, the Indoor Track and Field Championship at the UNI-Dome and the Women's Golf Championship at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
UNI will host the MVC Individual Tennis Championships October 4-6. The Panthers hosted the team championships this past spring at the UNI Tennis complex.
The Panthers have hosted the MVC Volleyball Championships five times in the last twelve years. The McLeod Center will host to MVC's top six teams Nov. 28-30. The Panthers will look to win back to back MVC Tournaments for the first time since 2010-11. The Panthers have hosted the tournament ten times with six championships and two runner ups while playing at home.
The MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be back in the UNI Dome for the 20th time. The UNI-Dome has been home to the Championship every year since 2008. The 2020 MVC Championships will be held Feb. 29 through Mar. 1.
UNI will host the 2020 Women's Golf Championship from April 19-21. The Panthers have hosted five times, last hosting the Women's Championship in 2015.
Site awards were approved by the league's Joint Committee (faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics and senior woman administrators of each institution) and are subject to ratification at the MVC Presidents' Council meeting on June 13.
