Holtz, Long Sweep MVC Athlete of the Week Honors

ST. LOUIS - UNI Seniors Isaac Holtz and Evan Long swept the Missouri Valley Conference track and field Athletes of the Week. Holtz won field Athlete of the Week honors and Long received track athlete of the week honors.Â
Long won the 400-meter dash at the University of Nebraska Spring Invite with a time of 47.29, currently the fastest time in the MVC. H also led the Panther 4x400-meter relay to a second-place finish with a time of 3:11.70, less than half a second off of Nebraska's winning time and the fastest time in the MVC to date. He is currently ranked 42nd in the NCAA West Region in the 400.
Holtz finished third in the discus at the competitive Nebraska Husker Spring Invite with a throw of 186-feet-3. He has the top mark in the MVC and is currently ranked 12th in the NCAA West Region. The performance came a week after he swept the top spots in the discus and the hammer throw at the Drake Jim Duncan Invite.Â
The Panthers are back in action Saturday at the Musco Twilight in Iowa City hosted by the University of Iowa.Â
