Day One: UNI Men's Invitational

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI men's golf team hosted day one of the UNI Men's Invitational on Saturday. The men's A team finished in fourth place with a team total 307 while the Men's B team finished in third place with a team total of 306.
The Panthers managed to work their way through the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in the cold and wind on Saturday. UNI's Tommy Doyle shot a team low 75, good enough for T5 on the day. Four Panthers carded a 76 for a tie for seventh on the day in Andrew Wood, Jack Klingle, Alex Pries, and Nick Walker.
Sam Sacquitne, Carter Stochl and Christoph Kuttnigg all carded a 78. Royce Weber finished with a 79 while Dominic Schnepf, Parker Oleson, and Elliott Nielson all ended with an 80.
Western Illinois carded the day's lowest score in with Jackson Wetherbee leading the field after carding an even par 72. Western Illinois Kyle Irlbacker finished with a 73 and is in sole possession of second place.
Western Illinois leads the men's side with 299 total followed by Creighton at 305. The Panthers 'B' team finishes in third with 306, UNI's 'A' team ends the day at 307 and Southwestern Community College finished in fifth at 316.
The Panthers will start the final day of the UNI Men's Invitational at 9 a.m. on Sunday at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.
