Panthers Earn 6 Seed in Arch Madness

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The Missouri Valley Conference has announced the seedlings for the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.
The Panthers have earned the #6 seed in the tournament after a three-way tie for 5th in the league with Bradley and Illinois State.
While Drake (12-6) and Loyola (12-6) were crowned the regular season co-champions, the Ramblers of Loyola have earned the #1 seed in the tournament after sweeping the Bulldogs in league play leaving Drake to play in the #2 spot.
The Salukis of Southern Illinois (10-8) earned the #3 seed after Saturday's victory forcing the Bears of Missouri State (10-8) into the #4 seed.
A three-way tie at 9-9 was settled by head to head competition with Bradley coming out on top to secure the 5th seed. The Panthers managed to lock in the #6 seed pushing the Redbirds of Illinois State to #7.
Valparaiso and Indiana State were locked in the #8 and #9 seeds prior to Saturday's competitions, both tied at 7-11 the Sycamores earn the 8 seed with a sweep of the Crusaders.
The only team that knew their fate entering Saturday's competitions was the Purple Aces of Evansville (5-13) rounding out the lead at #10.
The #8 Sycamores and #9 Crusaders will start the MVC Tournament on Thursday, March 7 at 6 p.m. The #7 Illinois State Redbirds and #10 Evansville take the court in game two with an 8:30 p.m. tip-off time.
The second day of the tournament will start with the league's co-champion and #1 seed Ramblers of Loyola taking on the winner of game one at noon. Missouri State and Bradley take the floor at 2:30 p.m. in a hard-fought #4/#5 matchup.
The #2 Bulldogs of Drake take on the winner of game two at 6 p.m. and the #3 Salukis of Southern Illinois take on the #6 Panthers at 8:30 p.m. to wrap up the second day.
All play-in games and quarterfinal games will be aired on the MVC TV Network with the semifinal and championship game being aired on CBS Sports.
