
UNI Tennis Holds Off SIUE, 4-3

WATERLOO, Iowa—The UNI Panthers tennis squad held off the visiting Cougars of Southern Illinois Edwardsville, 4-3.
The Panther team of Reghan Lynch and Claudia Toledo earned their second-straight victory in the No. 1 doubles spot, defeating Lara Tupper and Ann-Christine Link, 6-2. Daisy Phillips and Olivia Fain won their second match in the No. 3 doubles spot to earn the doubles point for UNI, 7-6 (8-6).
Phillips, in the No. 4 singles spot, earned her third-straight victory, defeating Raillane Kamdem 6-0, 6-2. Lynch defeated Munteanu 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles spot for her second victory in the No. 1 singles spot to move to 2-1 on the season. Valentina Caro posted her second victory this season in the No. 6 singles, defeating Link 6-2, 6-4 to secure the victory for the Panthers.
Kate Merrick fell in the No. 5 singles spot 6-2, 6-2 to Callaghan Adams of SIUE. Toledo was defeated by Tupper 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 2 singles spot. Harri Proudfoot fell in a tie-breaker in the No. 3 spot, 7-6 (8-6), 5-7 (10-8).
