AJ Green Named MVC Newcomer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The Missouri Valley Conference has named UNI's AJ Green as the league's Newcomer of the Week for his play from Feb 18-24.
Green ended the week with 32 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists to help the Panthers go 2-0 on the week. Green went 3-8 from the field and made all four of his free throw attempts against Missouri State to total 10 points. The freshman guard led the Panthers with three steals and hauled in three rebounds in the midweek matchup.
Green finished with 22 points in the Panthers victory over Valparaiso on Saturday, going 9-16 from the field and 3-6 from beyond the three-point arc. The freshman hauled in 5 rebounds to help the Panthers record their fourth straight win, the longest winning streak of the season.
Currently just one game back of first place in the league, the Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on the Ramblers of Loyola. Wednesday will serve as the Panther's senior night, honoring seniors Wyatt Lohaus and Miles Wentzien. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+.
