
Panther Women Fall at Creighton 57-54

OMAHA – The Creighton women's basketball team closed the game on a 12-0 run and picked up a 57-54 win over UNI Sunday afternoon at the D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha.
The two teams battled back and forth on the day, after a quick early Panther lead, Creighton controlled most of the first half, leading by as much as eight and took a 32-28 advantage into halftime.
UNI stepped up the defense in the third quarter. The Panthers held Creighton without a field goal for the final eight minutes of the third quarter and continued onto the fourth where UNI led by nine points with 3:07 to play, but Creighton closed the game with the big run to pick up the three-point win.
The Panthers were 19-45 (42.2%) from the field, but turned the ball over 16 times and were outrebounded 36-30, leading to 13 more shot attempts for the Bluejays.
Kam Finley was the only Panther in double figures. She scored a game-high 16 points in the effort. She was 4-7 from the field and 3-4 from the three-point line.
Three Creighton players scored in double figures. Rachel Saunders led the way with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
