Panthers Travel to Las Vegas for the Cliff Keen Invite

The Panthers travel to Las Vegas for the prestigious Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite Friday and Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.Â
• According to FloWrestling. Two Panthers open the weekend ranked in the top spot among competitors in the Cliff Keen Invite. Max Thomsen (149) and Bryce Steiert (174) are ranked first in their respective weight classes. Taylor Lujan (184) is ranked second, Jay Schwarm (125) enters ranked fifth and Carter Isley (285) enters ninth.

Michael Blockhus (141) and Carter Isley (285) are ranked in the top-32 in the Track Wrestling Poll. Isley cracked the top-25 in The Open Mat poll this week.Â
• Taylor Lujan is 5-0 on the year and picked up an impressive major decision over Nebraska's Taylor Venz.Â
• Jay Schwarm (125), Jack Skudlarczyk(133), Michael Blockhus (141), Max Thomsen (149), Keaton Geerts (157), Austin Yant (165), Bryce Steiert (174), Noah Glaser (197) and Carter Isley (285) will wrestle in Las Vegas for the Panthers.Â
• Several Panthers will make the trip to Storm Lake, Iowa, for the Buena Vista University Open. Freshmen Kyle Gollhofer, Garrett Moll, Kaleb Olejniczak and Parker Keckeisen will wrestle unattached. Kyle Biscoglia, Jack Wagner (unat.), Derek Holschlag, Patrick Schoenfelder, Tyrell Gordon (unat.), Bryce Esmoil and Keegan Moore (unat.) will also wrestle at the event.
• UNI freshman Kyle Gollhofer (Fr./Soph - 125) and redshirt freshman Drew Bennett (open - 133) picked up tournament championships at the Grand View Open in Des Moines. Kaleb Olejniczak (Fr/Soph. - 149) and Kyle Biscoglia (Open – 125) finished second, and Parker Keckeisen (Open – 184) finished third in a strong team showing in Des Moines.Â
• Six Panthers earned individual titles at the Harold Nichols Open.Â
