UNI Softball Releases 2020 Schedule

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI softball program has released its schedule for the 2020 season. The Panthers will play 21 contest at their two home venues, playing in the UNI Dome or at the Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex.
The Panthers will open the season in the UNI Dome, playing in the Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic from Feb 7-9. UNI will play six games over three days, taking on South Dakota twice, Murray State twice, South Dakota State and DePaul.
The team will pack up and hit the road for three straight road tournaments from Feb 14-Mar 8. The Panthers will open their road swing at the University of Arizona on Feb 14, taking on Arizona, Oklahoma, Bryant, and Long Beach.
The team will travel to Central Arkansas University from Feb 28-Mar 1 to play five games. The Panthers will take on Steven F. Austin twice, Belmont, Louisiana-Monroe and Central Arkansas. The Panthers will then travel to Greeley, Colorado to play in a University of Northern Colorado tournament from Mar 6-8, playing Nebraska-Omaha twice, Utah Valley twice and Northern Colorado.
Following the Northern Colorado tournament the Panthers will get a week off before starting Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play. UNI will open MVC play on the road with weekend contests in Evansville, Indiana from Mar 14-15. The team will continue its road swing in Peoria for three games with Bradley on Mar 21-22.
UNI will play in one of its three midweek games on March 24, taking on Wisconsin on the road. Continuing MVC play, the Panthers will host Indiana State Mar 28-29 then again play at home, hosting the Bears of Missouri State Apr 4-5.
The Panthers will break from MVC action to play in-state rival Iowa State on Tuesday, April 7 at home. The team will play host to the Ramblers of Loyola Apr 10-11 and host the Bulldogs of Drake on Apr 14. Continuing their road swing, the Panthers will travel to Carbondale, Illinois for three games against Southern Illinois.
The Panthers will play their third and final midweek game when they travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes of Iowa on Wednesday, April 29. The Panthers will then host the Redbirds of Illinois State in the final weekend of MVC play on May 1-2 then travel to Evansville, Indiana for the MVC Tournament.
