Top Seeded Panthers Set For MVC Tournament

THE PANTHERS
• UNI won the MVC regular season title for the 19th time in program history with a 17-1 MVC record. Head Coach Bobbi Petersen now has 9 regular season crown in her tenure.

• The Panthers earn the #1 seed in the MVC Tournament, marking the 35th time the Panthers will play in the MVC Championship semifinals.

• UNI has recorded more wins in the MC Tournament than any other school. UNI 46, ILS 40, BU 4, Valpo 1, EU 1, LUC 0

• Since 1982, only three current league members have ever won the MVC Tournament title. In 37 seasons of Valley volleyball, UNI has claimed nearly half of all tourney titles, an amazing 17 tournament championships (.459), while Illinois State has captured 10 (.270). The only other team to ever win the league tournament is Missouri State

• Rachel Koop and Abbi Staack were each named MVC First Team Scholar Athletes, Inga Rotto was named Honorable Mention.

• Karlie Taylor continues to rise up the UNI career kills leader-board, ranking 3rd all-time

• Rachel Koop ranks 8th in UNI career assists.

• Entering the 2019 season, Bobbi Petersen's 485 wins ranks 28th in NCAA Division I coaching victories. Petersen's .763 winning percentage is the 8th highest among active Division I coaches.

• Karlie Taylor returns for her senior season after recording 4.77 kills per set in 2018, ranking 6th nationally. Karlie Taylor ranks 2nd all-time at UNI in kills per set with a career average of 3.86.

• Taylor is the only player in UNI history to record multiple 500 kill seasons.
