UNI Athletics Partners with Cedar Falls Main Street

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The City of Cedar Falls and UNI Athletics have partnered together to show Panther pride on every light post in the downtown Cedar Falls district starting this week.
The city will display banners throughout the downtown district highlighting UNI Athletics branding and colors. The city will display the banners throughout the year, excluding seasonal changes for holidays or events.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to highlight the relationship between the university and the city of Cedar Falls," Director of Athletics David Harris said. "We know how vital the community is in everything we do and they know how important UNI Athletics is to our vibrant city both financially and culturally. It will be a welcome sight to see the banners hanging every time I go downtown."
Executive Director of Community Main Street Carol Lilly echoed Harris' thoughts.
"We are excited to partner with UNI Athletics and show our Panther spirit in the Cedar Falls Downtown District," she said. "Cedar Falls and Community Main Street benefit from the university and Panther Athletics and look forward to having purple and gold featured downtown."
UNI Athletics is committed to showing Panther pride in the community and is pursuing other avenues to spread purple and gold throughout the Cedar Valley.
