THE SERIES
The Panthers and Sycamores will take the floor for the 68th time on Friday night. The two teams have met every year since 1982 with the Panthers dominating the series, holding a 62-5 all-time record. The Panthers opened the series winning the first 12 matches before falling in the 1992. The Panthers later went on a 33 match win streak from 1997-2013 and are currently on an 8 match streak dating back to 2015.

The Purple Aces will host the Panthers on Saturday night for the two team's 54th matchup. The Panthers hold a 51-2 series record with the two losses coming in 2008 and 2018. The series started in 1994 with the Panthers winning the first 30 matches and won 20 matches in a row before last season's loss.

• The Panthers stand at 8-1 after the first cycle of the conference schedule.

• The Panthers opened MVC play with six victories before falling to the Redbirds of Illinois State in 5 sets. Now 8-1 in the Valley, the Panthers hold a 26-7 set record in league play.

• Karlie Taylor continues to rise up the UNI career kills leader-board, ranking 5th all-time with 1,515 career kills.

• Rachel Koop ranks 10th in UNI career assists with 2,470.

• The Panthers return five starters including First Team All-MVC selections Rachel Koop and Karlie Taylor and Second Team All-MVC selections Kate Busswitz and Jaydlin Seehase.

• Bobbi Petersen enters the 2019 season with a career 485-151 record, 15 wins away from 500 and 18 wins away from becoming the UNI all-time wins leader.

• Bobbi Petersen's 485 wins ranks 28th in NCAA Division I coaching victories. Petersen's .763 winning percentage is the 8th highest among active Division I coaches.

• Rachel Koop returns to set the Panther offense after averaging 11.97 assist per set in 2018, leading the conference and ranking 5th nationally. Rachel Koop ranks 10th in career assists per set with a 9.19 average.

• Karlie Taylor returns for her senior season after recording 4.77 kills per set in 2018, ranking 6th nationally. Karlie Taylor ranks 2nd all-time at UNI in kills per set with a career average of 3.86.

• Taylor is the only player in UNI history to record multiple 500 kill seasons.
