THE SERIES
The Panthers have controlled the all-time series between the in-state rival since the early 80's, holding a 82-12-2 all-time record with the Bulldogs. The Panthers and Bulldogs tied their first ever match in 1975 with set scores of 3-15 and 17-15. The Panthers won in three sets in 1976 before losing three in a row from 1977-1978. The Panthers won four matches from 1978 – 1979 before falling or tying eight matches in the early 80's. Since 1984 the Bulldogs have only won two matches. The Panthers are currently on a 45 match win streak, last falling to the in-state rival on November 23, 1996.

THE PANTHERS
• The Panthers are currently on a 45 match win streak with the Bulldogs, dating back to October 1996.

• The Panthers opened MVC play with six victories before falling to the Redbirds of Illinois State in 5 sets. Now 6-1 in the Valley, the Panthers hold a 20-6 set record in league play.

• Bobbi Petersen closes in on 500 career victories, just 3 wins away from the historic mark.

• Karlie Taylor continues to rise up the career kills leader-board, ranking 5th all-time with 1,476 career kills.

• Rachel Koop currently ranks 10th in career assists with 2,376.

• The Panthers return five starters including First Team All-MVC selections Rachel Koop and Karlie Taylor and Second Team All-MVC selections Kate Busswitz and Jaydlin Seehase.

• Bobbi Petersen enters the 2019 season with a career 485-151 record, 15 wins away from 500 and 18 wins away from becoming the UNI all-time wins leader.

• Bobbi Petersen's 485 wins ranks 28th in NCAA Division I coaching victories. Petersen's .763 winning percentage is the 8th highest among active Division I coaches.

• Rachel Koop returns to set the Panther offense after averaging 11.97 assist per set in 2018, leading the conference and ranking 5th nationally. Rachel Koop ranks 10th in career assists per set with a 9.19 average.

• Karlie Taylor returns for her senior season after recording 4.77 kills per set in 2018, ranking 6th nationally. Karlie Taylor ranks 2nd all-time at UNI in kills per set with a career average of 3.86.

• Taylor is the only player in UNI history to record multiple 500 kill seasons.
