OMAHA, Neb.—The UNI Panthers tennis squad lost a close match this afternoon against the Omaha Mavericks, 4-3.

In doubles competition, Daisy Phillips and Olivia Fain defeated Emily Behling and Rylee Tucker, 6-3, in the No. 3 doubles spot to even the doubles matches. Reghan Lynch and Claudia Toledo were defeated in the No. 1 doubles spot, 6-1. Valentina Caro and Harri Proudfoot were defeated in the No. 2 doubles spot 7-6 (7-5), as the Mavericks would take a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers earned victories in three of the singles spots as the match would come down to the last two matches. Kate Merrick defeated Savanna Crowell (6-2, 6-1) in the No. 5 spot to bring the Panthers within one. Toledo defeated Janelle Wilson (7-5, 6-3) in the No. 2 singles spot.

Behling would defeat Fain in the No. 6 spot (6-2, 6-1). In the No. 1 singles spot, Reghan Lynch fell (6-3, 6-4) to Ines Absisan.

The No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches would go three sets, as the Mavericks pulled away with the victory in the No. 3 match. Phillips defeated Marie Kapelevich (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the No. 4 spot to tie the match at 3. Harri Proudfoot won the second set to force a third set in the No. 3 spot, before falling to Natalie Lorentz (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
