CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The 17th-ranked UNI volleyball team fell to Iowa State (RV) 25-20, 25-20, 32-30 Wednesday at a sold-out McLeod Center.
The Panthers struggled to find the same stingy defense and consistent hitting that carried them to a pair of top-15 wins last week at the USC Invite in Los Angeles.
UNI got into a groove in the third set, but failed to capitalize on three set points before falling 32-30.
Reigning MVC Player of the Week Karlie Taylor led the way with 17 kills and Jaydlin Seehase added 13 kills. The Cyclones notched a .306 attack percentage while UNI hit just .202.
Rachel Koop tallied 32 assists and Kendyl Sorge had a team-high 14 digs.
Sell Out
For the first time in UNI Volleyball history the McLeod Center was sold out. The final attendance figure was the 6,415, a sellout with standing room only crowds. The last time UNI Volleyball hit close to capacity was in 2011 against Iowa State.
Up Next
The Panthers continue the home stand and host Pac-12 power Washington State (RV) on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online here.
