CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—The University of Northern Iowa women's volleyball (2-3) was unable to overcome an early Washington State Cougars (3-0) lead.
The Cougars opened the first set with six unanswered points before Kate Busswitz had her first kill of the match. The Panthers were unable to overcome the six-point lead in the first set as the Cougars won the first set 25-23.
The second set opened in a similar fashion for the Cougars until Rachel Koop had a service ace to tie the set at 12. The Panthers earned the next point on an attack error by Washington State. The Panthers would not give on the lead in the second set, winning the set 25-19.
The Panthers would trade points back-and-forth with the Cougars in the third and fourth sets. Washington State would win the third set (25-21) and the fourth set (25-19).
